! El otoño está aquí !

!Hola! ¿ cómo están?, el otoño está aquí y en Ray estamos preparados para disfrutar mucho esta nueva estación del año. Hello, how are you?, Fall is here and at Ray we are ready to enjoy this new season a lot.

First, let me thank  to all the parents and students that were at the Curriculum Night this Miércoles 22 de Septiembre. It was a pleasure to meet all of you!

In the last post I inserted una fotografía that I took el pasado otoño en España, I think that los colores y el paisaje son preciosos and I wanted to share with the Ray community. La fotografía de esta semana es en las montañas en el España. The one of this week is was taken in the mountains of my hometown, El Barco the Avila, in Spain  and the name of the mountains is La Sierra de Gredos  in the Central System while hiking. It is a moment of belleza, tranquilidad y admiración a la naturaleza. Beauty, tranquility and admiration of nature are parts of the whole composition.

4th grade/ Grado 4

Most of los estudiantes of 4th grade completed the first assignment and also turned the second one:

1- Students have to create the flag of the Spanish speaking country they were given. Also they need to have the list of all the Spanish speaking countries.

2- Students will draw a classroom with the following objects and people (these have to be labeled in Spanish and English):

10 sillas, 10 mesas, 2 mapas, 1 maestro, 5 chicas, 5 chicos, 3 ventanas, 2 carpetas, pared (as many as they decide), 2 marcadores, 3 computadoras, 3 puertas, 2 banderas, 2 estanterias, 5 libros

We also practised introducing ourselves and meeting new people.

With the help of a video muy divertido we worked with números  and also we learnt how to say los nombres of others paises en español. This actividad will allow us to have the third assignment completed that will be los Paises del Mundo / Countries of the World and Números 1-40 / Numbers 1-40.

Esta semana we will have actividades that will reinforce the learning of números, objetos de la clase, presentaciones, vocabulario de la escuela / numbers, objects of the classroom, introducing ourselves, vocabulary of school and we also will learn how to ask how someone feels.

5th Grade/Grado 5

We have reviewed the identity of objetos de la clase/classroom, the different subjects we study, the use of a schedule.

This week we will learn to use a calendario/calendar, to tell la hora/time and also we will reviewed números/numbers from 1-100.

So far we have the following assignments:

1- Schedule of our classes

2- Different activities we do in each class

6th Grade/Grado 6

This week we will learn how to compare people; we will also learn how to ask and talk about the interior and exterior of dwellings.

In this grade we completed the assignments:

1- Vocabulary list of /partes del cuerpo/body parts (18 parts) ; vocabulary list of ropas/clothing (15 items of clothing); a phisycal description of yourself and somebody else; a description of the cloths of yourself and other person the students choose.

! BIENVENIDOS A LA CLASE DE ESPAñOL !

! Bienvenidos a este nuevo año en la clase de Español!

Grado 4

We have started the year learning the Spanish speaking countries and their flags. Also we reviewed:

1- to ask someone’s name

2- to give their name

3- to say hello and goodbye

This week, september 20th-23 we will learn:

1- Ask about classroom objects

2- Identify classroom objects

3- Identify numbers 1-29

Tarea-assighments

1- Students have to create the flag of the Spanish speaking country they were given. Also they need to have the list of all the Spanish speaking countries.

2- Students will draw a classroom with the following objects and people (these have to be label in Spanish and English):

1- a personal identity card with information about ourselves, likes and dislikes.

This week, September 20-24 we will:

1- discuss school subjects

2- discuss their preferences

3- Identify parts of the body

Tarea-assighments

 1- Students have to create a schedule with the times and all the subjects (in Spanish the names of the subjects)

2- Students will write two actions or activities they do in every class they take.

Grado 6

in our class we have reviewed the firs couple of weeks:

1- a personal identity card with information about ourselves, likes and dislikes.

2- the parts of the body

3- the description of cloths of somebody

4- physical and personal characteristics of people

This week we will :

1- tell what do we wear

2- identify the body parts

3- describe people

4- talk about the house and things to do in the house

Tarea-assighments

1- Students need to have a vocabulary list of 18 body parts and a vocabulary list of 15 items of clothing

2- Students will drescribe the clothes of two people

3- Students will drescribe two people (physically)
